The Walled Lake Consolidated Schools’ Board of Education appointed Michelle Kalhorn the new assistant principal at Walled Lake Northern High School during the May 23, 2024 meeting.

“I am excited to join the administrative team at Walled Lake Northern and serve in any capacity to help the Knights’ learning community continue to grow and develop,” said Kalhorn. “I am eager to return to the high school level in a leadership role after spending 15 years of my career in high schools prior to working at Sarah G. Banks Middle School.”

Kalhorn has been in the district since 2015 and most recently served as principal at Sarah G. Banks Middle School for the past six years. Kalhorn brings 11 years of administrative experience to Walled Lake Northern and five years on the high school level. Kalhorn started her career in Walled Lake as an assistant principal at Walled Lake Central. Prior to that, she held both assistant principal and Dean of Students roles at Milford High School.

“It has been a pleasure to serve the Sarah G. Banks Middle School community as principal for the past six years,” reflected Kalhorn. “Banks is such a special place, and I was lucky to have had the opportunity to serve this community and lead such a strong group of educators.”

“I am forever grateful to all of the staff, students, and families that I have had the chance to work with and I will certainly miss the Banks family,” added Kalhorn. “As we say around here, once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.”

"Since 2015, Mrs. Kalhorn has been a dynamic leader, most recently serving as the principal of Sarah G. Banks Middle School for the past six years,” said Dr. Michael Lonze, incoming Superintendent of Schools. “With 11 years of administrative experience, including five years at the high school level, Mrs. Kalhorn brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Walled Lake Northern. I am confident that Mrs. Kalhorn's leadership and dedication will continue to greatly benefit our community."
