Dear Sarah G. Banks Middle School students and families,

I am thrilled to join the Sarah G. Banks Middle School community to serve as your next leader. I will make every effort to continue with the fine work established by my predecessor to ensure the tradition of excellence is maintained while also collaborating with our community to continue to provide our students with the best middle school experience possible. 

Establishing relationships is a top priority for me, and I will strive to provide a safe, supportive and caring environment for all staff and students. I am looking forward to establishing connections with the members of our community and building strong partnerships. Together, we're better!

I previously served as the proud principal of Meadowbrook Elementary and prior to that, as the principal of Columbia Upper Elementary School in Brooklyn, MI from 2017 to 2021; a teacher from 2004-2017 and varsity competitive and sideline cheer coach from 2004-2009 at Columbia Central High School in Brooklyn, MI; and a teacher at Sanford Middle School in Sanford, FL from 2002-2004.

I graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the Lyman Briggs Human Biology, Honors College at Michigan State University in 2002. I earned my Master of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University in 2009. Most recently, I received a certificate in Leading for Equity and Justice in 2021 from Eastern Michigan University. I also serve on the MEMSPA executive board for our region’s statewide principal organization.
